MLK March and Celebration

Monday, January 15: Beginning at 11 a.m. the MLK March will start near 4th and King streets and conclude at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts at approximately noon. The 3rd Street Bridge is closed for construction, so the march will travel via Berry Street. 4th Street will be closed at 3rd Street for the duration of the March.

The MLK Celebration will be held at Yerba Buena Center for the Arts from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Caltrain’s Celebration Train will arrive at the 4th and King Street Station at 10:55 a.m.

Note: A representatives of the Port reached out to Yellow to ask us to promote the arrivals of the ships to our drivers. We can’t say for sure but it might indicate they had a shortage cabs for the January 2nd arrival.

UPDATE: Third Street Bridge Rehabilitation Project

Through Friday, January 26, 2018: The Third Street Bridge is undergoing counterweight maintenance in preparation for the upcoming Third Street Bridge Rehabilitation Project.

During the construction period, a full closure of the Third Street Bridge is required. Access will be restricted to all vehicles, bicycles, and pedestrians between Berry and Terry A. Francois streets, for 24 hours per day.

Waterway access will remain open to watercraft traffic. Access to private or commercial buildings and pedestrian pathway on either side of the bridge will be maintained at all times, however, delays should be expected.

Travelers are encouraged to plan ahead and may consider alternate routes:
