Friday, August 31: The Critical Mass bicycle ride will begin at Embarcadero Plaza (formerly Justin Herman Plaza) at 6 p.m.

There will be heavy traffic in the area. Motorists are advised to allow extra travel time.

Salsa Festival in the Fillmore

Dance the night away this Friday and Saturday in the Fillmore when the 9th annual Salsa Festival returns to the Fillmore Center Plaza on Fillmore and O’Farrell streets. This free event is open to the public and fun for all ages. There will be dance instruction in salsa, bachata and merengue for the first hour each night where even first-time dancers can learn the basics to enjoy the evening. If dancing isn’t your forte but you still enjoy the spectacle, there’s plenty of enjoyment to be had as a spectator of the dance area while taking in the live music experience.

JP Morgan Chase Corporate Challenge

Thursday, September 6: The annual JP Morgan Chase Corporate Challenge will take place from McCovey Cove to The Embarcadero between 7 and 8:30 p.m.

Terry Francois Boulevard between 3rd and South streets, with local access allowed via South Street

The following street closures will be required from 6:45 to 8:30 p.m.:

Northbound 3rd Street between Channel and King streets
Southbound 3rd Street (easternmost lane only) between Berry and Channel streets
Southbound 3rd Street (westernmost lane only) between Channel Street and Mission Bay Boulevard North
Eastbound King Street between 3rd and 2nd streets
The Embarcadero between 3rd and Howard streets
