Civic Center Concert

Saturday, June 1: Another Planet Entertainment will be putting on a major concert in Civic Center. The show will run from 5:30 to 10 p.m. Additional information of concert may be available at https://apeconcerts.com/events/fred-again-240601/.

To facilitate the event, street closures are in place from Tuesday, May 28 through Monday, June 3.

The following street closures will be required:

  • From 6 a.m., Tuesday, May 28 to 4 p.m., Monday, June 3:
    • Grove Street between Polk and Larkin streets
  • From 7 p.m., Wednesday, May 29 to 4 a.m., Monday, June 3:
    • Dr Carlton B Goodlett Place / Polk Street between McAllister and Hayes streets
  • From 6 a.m., Friday, May 31 to 6 a.m. to 4 a.m., Sunday, June 2:
    • Fulton Street between Larkin and Hyde streets
  • From 7 p.m., Friday, May 31 to 4 a.m., Sunday, June 2:
    • Larkin Street between Hayes and McAllister streets
    • Grove Street between Larkin and Hyde streets
    • Grove Street between Van Ness Avenue and Polk Street

Taxi Stand

A taxi stand will be in place at 20-22 Hyde Street, south of Fulton Street.

Union Street Festival

Saturday, June 1 and Sunday, June 2: The 46th annual Union Street Festival will take place on Union Street between Octavia and Fillmore streets. The event will be held from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., Saturday, June 1; and from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Sunday, June 2. For more details, visit www.unionstreetsf.com .

The following street closures will be required from 4 a.m., Saturday to midnight, Sunday:

  • Union Street between Octavia and Fillmore streets
  • Octavia Street between Green and Filbert streets
  • Laguna Street between Green and Filbert streets
  • Buchanan Street between Green and Filbert streets
  • Webster Street between Green and Filbert streets
  • Intersections: Union Street at Octavia, Laguna, Buchanan and Webster streets

Fillmore Street will remain open for through traffic, it may be congested due to crowds. Local access for residents will be allowed on the impacted streets except for Union Street.

Taxi Stand

A taxi stand will be in place at 2980-2998 at Union Street.

SF Giants Baseball Game

Friday, May 31 through Sunday, June 2: The San Francisco Giants will play three home games at the ballpark. Listed below are start times for these games:
  • Three games against the New York Yankees: 1) 7:15 p.m., Friday May 31; 2) 7:05 p.m., Saturday, June 1 and 3) 1:05 p.m., Sunday, June 2.

Street Closures

To accommodate events that will take place at the ballpark, the following street closures will be enforced:

  • Two and a half hours before the opening pitch, the SFMTA will close eastbound King Street between 3rd and 2nd streets to vehicle traffic. King Street will reopen after first pitch until the seventh inning.
  • From the seventh inning until post-game traffic dies down, the SFMTA will again close eastbound King Street between 3rd and 2nd streets to vehicle traffic in order to reduce congestion on city streets.
  • Additionally, the northbound portion of the 4th Street Bridge (Peter R. Maloney Bridge) will be closed to all traffic except Muni, taxis and bicycles during the post-game period.

  • 2nd Street, east side, between Townsend and King Streets
  • 3rd Street, west side, north of King Street

Festa Coloniale Italiana

Saturday, June 1 and Sunday, June 2: The annual Festa Coloniale Italiana will take place in the North Beach area along Stockton Street between Union and Filbert streets from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. For more event details, visit www.sfiacfoundation.com.

The following street closures will be required from 4 a.m., Saturday, June 1 to 10 p.m., Sunday, June 2:

  • Stockton Street between Union and Filbert streets
  • Filbert Street between Stockton and Powell streets

Statuto Race

Sunday, June 2: The 103rd annual Italian Club Statuto Race will begin at 9 a.m. in North Beach. This race consists of an eight-mile run and a two-mile walk starting from Washington Square Park to North Point to Herb Caen Way along the waterfront to Bryant Street and return to Washington Square. The following street closures will be required from 7 a.m. to noon:

  • Stockton Street between Union and Filbert streets
  • North Point Street between Stockton Street and The Embarcadero

Ruth Jackson Sunnydale Family Day

Sunday, June 2: The Ruth Jackson Sunnydale Family Day at Hertz Playground provides community members a chance to gather for a fantastic day of fun and entertainment that will feature a parade, car show, performances, a raffle, and plenty of activities to keep the kids busy.

The parade will start at Velasco Avenue and Santos Street proceeding along Santos onto Sunnydale Avenue culminating on Hahn Street at Visitacion Avenue.

Due to street closures, limited parking and heavier than usual pedestrian activity, event goers should consider using public transportation. Muni routes 8 Bayshore, 9 San Bruno and 56 Rutland will take customers to close the festivities.

The following street closures will be in effect from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m., Sunday:

  • Hahn Street between Sunnydale and Visitacion avenues
  • Visitacion Avenue between Mansell and Hahn streets
  • Leland Avenue between Sawyer Street to Visitacion Avenue

San Francisco Unified School District High School Commencements

Monday, June 3 through Wednesday, June 5: San Francisco Unified School District will host high school graduation commencements at Kezar Stadium and at Jerry Garcia Amphitheater in McLaren Park. For more details, visit www.sfusd.edu/05-23-2024-graduation.

Motorists traveling to and from the ceremonies should expect heavy traffic around the event areas. Congestion and heavy traffic on Frederick Street between Stanyan Street and Lincoln Way are anticipated.
