U.S. Navy Fleet Week

Monday, Oct. 7 through Monday, Oct. 14: Fleet Week will be held along Fisherman’s Wharf, the Marina District and Piers 30, 32 & 35 on The Embarcadero.
More event information can be found on the San Francisco Fleet Week Association’s website at www.fleetweeksf.org.In support of our military personnel, the SFMTA will offer free Muni Service (including Cable Car) to those in uniform or those who present military ID card during Fleet Week from Monday, Oct. 7 through Monday, Oct. 14.The Blue Angels will have official shows from Friday, Oct. 11 to Sunday, Oct. 13. Shows will begin at noon, each day, Friday through Sunday.

From Wednesday, Oct. 9 through Monday, Oct. 14, the Parade of Ships, air shows and ship tours will be held to celebrate the U.S. Navy Fleet Week. These events will impact the Fisherman’s Wharf area and the Marina District.

The celebration will begin on Friday at 11 a.m. with the Parade of Ships and continue on Saturday and Sunday, from Noon to 4 p.m. Ship tours will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 9, Thursday, Oct. 10, Saturday, Oct. 12 and Sunday, Oct. 9. Ship tours will be open from 9 a.m. to Noon on Monday, Oct. 14.

On Friday, Oct. 11, Castro Terminal will be closed for the annual Fleet Week Concert in Jane Warner Plaza. The plaza will reopen at approximately 7 p.m. The Navy Band southwest joined by the SF PRIDE band will perform this year. The two bands will perform individually and together. Performance will begin at 5:15 p.m. following by speakers. In addition, the Harvey Milk’s streetcar will be on display. F line stops near terminal will be affected.

Taxi Stands

Taxi stands to allow taxis to service the event are at the following locations:

  • Beach and Hyde streets
  • Pier 39

Chinatown Night Market

Friday, Oct. 11: The monthly night market will take place in Chinatown. This is an event that takes place on the second Friday of each month, from 5:30 to 9 p.m.

The following street closures will be required from 3 to 10 p.m., Friday:

  • Grant Avenue between Sacramento and Jackson streets
  • Commercial Street between Kearny Street and Grant Avenue
  • Intersection: Grant Avenue and Commercial Street

All other intersections will remain open.

The night market has expanded onto Waverly Place. A street closure of Waverly Place between Sacramento and Washington streets will be in place from 1 to 10 p.m.

Events at Chase Center

Friday, Oct. 11 through Wednesday, Oct. 16: There will be multiple events to take place at the Chase Center:
  • Friday, Oct. 11: The Warriors will play their first pre-season gameagainst the Sacramento Kings. Game will start at 7 p.m. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m.
  • Saturday, Oct. 12: Jo Koy will perform at Chase Center. Show will start at 8 p.m. Doors will open at 7 p.m.
  • Sunday, Oct. 13: The Warriors will play their second pre-season gameagainst the Detroit Pistons. Game will start at 5:30 p.m. Doors will open at 4 p.m.
  • Wednesday, Oct. 16: The Golden State Warriors will host “open practice” to give fans a rare, behind-the-scenes look at a Warriors team practice. “Open practice” will start at 5:30 p.m. Doors will open at 5 p.m

Street Closures

To accommodate events that will take place at the arena, the following street closures will be enforced two hours before and one hour after each event:

  • 16th Street between 3rd Street and Terry Francois Boulevard
  • Warriors Way between 3rd Street and Terry Francois Boulevard
  • Northbound 3rd Street between 16th Street and Warriors Way will also be closed approximately 30 minutes before and 45 minutes after an event.
  • Only local access will be allowed on Northbound Illinois Street between Mariposa and 16th streets.

Taxi Stands

There is one taxi stand located on southbound Terry Francois Boulevard.

Ramp Taxis should use the loading zone on eastbound Warriors Way at Bridgeview Way.

Ocean Beach Art and Music Festival

Saturday, Oct. 12: The Ocean Beach Art and Music Festival, formerly the Noriega Street Fair, will take place from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. For event details visit https://sf.funcheap.com/ocean-beach-music-art-festival-2/.

A street closure of Noriega Street between 44th and 47th avenues will be in place from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Larkin Street Roadway Shared Space

Saturday, Oct. 12: The Tenderloin Lower Polk Merchants and Property Owners Association will host their monthly Roadway Shared Space on Larkin Street.

Larkin Street between Eddy and O’Farrell streets will be closed from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., Saturday.

These closures will occur on the second Saturday of every month through Saturday, May 20, 2025. For details visit www.tlmpa.org.

Ferrari Car Show

Sunday, Oct. 13: The San Francisco Italian Athletic Club will host a car show on Union Street in North Beach neighborhood.

Union Street between Columbus Avenue and Stockton Street will be closed from 8 a.m. through 5 p.m. on Sunday for the event.

San Francisco Decompression

Sunday, Oct. 13: The annual San Francisco Decompression will be held at Potrero Power Station. Event will take place from noon to midnight. For more details, visit https://burningman.org.

The following street closures will be required from 6 p.m., Friday, Oct. 11through 5 p.m., Monday, Oct. 14:

  • Alameda Street between Potrero Avenue and Vermont Street
  • 15th Street between Potrero Avenue and Vermont Street
  • Utah Street between 16th and Alameda streets
  • San Bruno Avenue between Alameda and 16th streets

Italian Heritage Parade

Sunday, Oct. 13: The annual Italian Heritage Day Parade will be held in North Beach and Fisherman’s Wharf beginning at 12:30 p.m. from Jefferson and Powell streets and proceed to Washington Square. The parade should last two and a half hours. For event details, visit sfitalianheritage.org .

The parade formation will require the following street closures, beginning at 8 a.m.:

  • Powell Street between Chestnut and Beach streets
  • Stockton Street between Bay and Beach streets
  • Beach Street between Mason Street and Grant Avenue
  • North Point Street between Mason Street and The Embarcadero
  • Francisco Street between Stockton and Mason streets
  • Greenwich Street between Powell and Columbus streets
The parade route will begin on Jefferson Street at Mason Street, proceed west on Jefferson Street, south on Leavenworth Street, south on Columbus Avenue, south on Stockton Street, east on Vallejo Street, north on Columbus Avenue, north on Stockton Street, east on to Filbert Street and past the review stands at Washington Square Park. Parade units will disburse on Powell Street. Traffic along the parade route will be closed until the parade clears.
