Castro Night Market
Friday, Oct. 31: The Castro Night Market will take place from 5 to 10 p.m. on 18th and Castro streets. For more details, visit castro-night-market. This event occurs on the third Friday of every month.
The following street and parking lot closures will be required from 11 a.m. to midnight, Friday, Oct. 31:
- 18th Street between Noe and Diamond streets
- The SFMTA parking lot behind Walgreens
River of Life Halloween
Friday, Oct. 31: River of Life Church will host their annual Halloween event.
A street closure of Sunnydale Avenue between Hahn and Sawyer streets will be required from 2 to 10 p.m.
Halloween
Friday, Oct. 31: The SFMTA will provide regular Muni service for Halloween. Transit customers and motorists may experience delays and should allow extra travel time. While no major street closures have been planned in the Castro/Noe/Mission areas, San Francisco police officers will monitor pedestrian and automobile traffic for any necessary public safety street closures.
Neighborhood trick-or-treat closures have been permitted on a number of streets around the City. Times for trick-or-treat closures vary but most will be in place from about 5 p.m. until 9 or 10 p.m. Motorists should be attentive for these closures, and also slow down and be aware of children trick-or-treating throughout the City even where no street closures are in place.
Some of the larger trick-or-treat street closures include:
- Fair Oaks Street between 22nd and 26th streets
- Chenery Street between Diamond and Elk streets
- Cortland Avenue between Bennington & Gates streets
- Commonwealth Avenue and Jordan Avenue between California Street and Geary Boulevard
- Shotwell Street between 21th and 22nd streets
- Avila Street between Chestnut and Prado streets
- Grove Street between Baker Street and Central Avenue
- Lyon Street between Fulton and Hayes streets
Cortland Halloween

Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead Procession)
Saturday, Nov. 1: The annual Día de los Muertos Procession will take place. There will be two processions this year. Staging of procession will start at 6 p.m. in the Mission District. The first procession will start staging on Bryant Street, from 19th to 22nd streets. The second procession will start staging on York Street, from 24th to 25th streets.
The first procession will start from Bryant and 22nd streets and follow the route south on Bryant Street, west on 24th Street, north on Mission Street and then east on 22nd Street.
The second procession will start from York Street and follow the route west on 24th streets, south on Mission Street, east on 25th Street, north on Capp Street and then east on 24th Street.
Traffic and Muni routes will be detoured around the procession. Traffic in the event area should be expected to be heavy until approximately 10 p.m. Motorists and transit riders should allow extra travel time.
Golden Gate Half Marathon
Sunday, Nov. 2: The annual Golden Gate Half Marathon will take place in the morning. The marathon will start on Van Ness Avenue at Beach Street before proceeding via Bay Street, Laguna Street and Marina Boulevard, then through the Presidio to Golden Gate Bridge and back through the Marina and Fort Mason, ending at Aquatic Park. Limited street closures for event set up will begin the day before the race on Saturday, Nov. 2, near the Maritime Museum. The street closures for the race itself, including closures in the Presidio, will take place between 5 a.m. and noon on Sunday, Nov. 2:
6 a.m., Saturday to 5 p.m., Sunday:
- Beach Street between Hyde Street and Westerly Terminus
- Larkin Street between Beach Street and the Impark Parking lot Entrance
- Southbound Van Ness Avenue from North Point to Bay streets
- Polk Street between Beach and North Point streets
- North Point Street from Van Ness Avenue to Polk Street (Access will be allowed for eastbound Muni buses)
- Bay Street (Westbound lanes only) between Van Ness Avenue and Laguna Street
- Laguna Street (Northbound lanes only) between Bay and Beach streets
- Mariana Boulevard (Westbound lanes only) between Laguna and Lyon streets
- Girard Road (Westbound lanes only) between Mariana and Lincoln boulevards
- The US 101 freeway on ramp will be closed
Event at Chase Center
- Tuesday, Nov. 4: The Warriors will host a home game against the Phoenix Suns. Game will begin at 7 p.m. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m.
Street Closures
To accommodate events that will take place at the arena, the following street closures will be enforced two hours before and one hour after each event:
- 16th Street between 3rd Street and Terry Francois Boulevard
- Warriors Way between 3rd Street and Terry Francois Boulevard
- Northbound 3rd Street between 16th Street and Warriors Way will also be closed approximately 30 minutes before and 45 minutes after the event.
Only local access will be allowed on Northbound Illinois Street between Mariposa and 16th streets.
Taxi Stands
There is one taxi stand located on southbound Terry Francois Boulevard.
Ramp Taxis should use the loading zone on eastbound Warriors Way at Bridgeview Way.
