Downtown First Thursdays

Thursday, Dec. 4: The Downtown First Thursdays (DFT) event will take place on 2nd Street from 5 to 10 p.m. This is a free monthly street party that takes place every first Thursday of the month. For event details, visit www.dftsf.com.

The following street closures will be required from noon until midnight, Thursday:

  • 2nd Street between Market and Folsom streets
  • Clementina Street between 2nd and 1st streets
  • Jessie Street between New Montgomery and 2nd streets
  • Minna Street between New Montgomery and 1st streets
  • Natoma Street between New Montgomery and 1st streets
  • Stevenson Street between New Montgomery and 1st streets
  • Tehama Street between Hawthorne and 1st streets
These intersections will remain open at all times: 1) 2nd and Mission streets; 2) 2nd and Howard streets.

Cruzada Guadalupana

Saturday, Dec. 6 : La Cruzada Guadalupana Pilgrimage is a yearly event that starts in South San Francisco and proceeds through San Francisco to St. Mary’s Cathedral. The procession will begin at 6 a.m. and is anticipated to reach the San Francisco border with Daly City between 9 and 9:45 a.m. It will then proceed via Mission Street, 14th Street, South Van Ness, Ellis Street, and Gough Street to Geary. The procession will make one stop mid route at the Parish Church of St. John the Evangelist at Mission Street and St Mary’s Avenue. Approximately 10,000 people, 25 horses, and 18 vehicles (including sound trucks, floats, Red Cross vans, Radio La Raza trucks, water and supply trucks) will be a part of this procession.

The following street closures will be required from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saturday:

    • Mission Street / Sickles Avenue and 1111 Gough Street

Dogpatch Holiday Market

Saturday, Dec. 6: The Dogpatch Holiday Market returns to celebrate the season in one of San Francisco’s most creative neighborhoods. Event will take place from 11a.m. to 5 p.m.

A street closure of 22nd Street between 3rd and Illinois streets will be required from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m., Saturday.

Winter Walk SF

Saturday, Dec. 13 through Wednesday, Dec. 24: Winter Walk, San Francisco’s signature holiday event will return to Union Square area for a 12-day celebration that transforms two blocks of Stockton Street into a festive holiday destination.

This event features elaborate holiday decor, captivating performances, programmed snow, and seasonal offerings of food, drink, activities and shops. For more details about Winter Walk SF, visit visitunionsquaresf.com. Below are event hours during the celebration:

  • Monday to Wednesday, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
  • Thursday to Sunday, from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Tuesday, Dec. 9 through Saturday, Dec. 27: A street closure of Stockton Street between Post and O’Farrell streets will be required from 4 a.m., Tuesday, Dec. 9 and continuing through 10 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 27.
