San Francisco Giants Baseball Games

Friday, April 7 through Wednesday, April 12: The San Francisco Giants will start their first regular home opener and regular season games at the ballpark. Listed below are start times for these games:
  • Three games against the Kansas City Royals: 1) 1:35 p.m., Friday, April 7; 2) 1:05 p.m., Saturday, April 8; and 3) 1:05 p.m., Sunday, April 9.
  • Three games against the Los Angeles Dodgers: 1) 6:45 p.m., Monday, April 10; 2) 6:45 p.m., Tuesday, April 11; and 3) 6:45 p.m., Wednesday, April 12.

Street Closures

To accommodate events that will take place at the ballpark, the following street closures will be enforced:

  • Two and a half hours before the opening pitch, the SFMTA will close eastbound King Street between 3rd and 2nd streets to vehicle traffic. King Street will reopen after first pitch until the seventh inning.
  • From the seventh inning until post-game traffic dies down, the SFMTA will again close eastbound King Street between 3rd and 2nd streets to vehicle traffic in order to reduce congestion on city streets.
  • Additionally, the northbound portion of the 4th Street Bridge (Peter R. Maloney Bridge) will be closed to all traffic except Muni, taxis and bicycles during the post-game period.

  • 2nd Street, west side, between Brannan and King Streets
  • 2nd Street, east side, between Townsend and King Streets
  • 3rd Street, east side, north of King Street

Cherry Blossom Festival

Saturday, April 8 and Sunday, April 9: The 56th Annual Cherry Blossom Festival will be held for two consecutive weekends, April 8-9 and April 15-16. The festival will take place from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., each day. For event details visit www.sfcherryblossom.org.
There will also be a parade on Sunday, April 16, from Civic Center to Japantown.

The following street closures will be required beginning 4 a.m., Saturday, April 8 through 9 p.m., Sunday, April 9:

  • Post Street between Laguna and Fillmore streets
  • Webster Street between Geary Boulevard and Sutter Street
  • Buchanan Street between Bush and Sutter streets
  • Intersection: Webster Street at Post Street

San Francisco Lowriders Council Tribute to Selena

On Saturday, April 8: The San Francisco Low Rider Council will pay tribute to Selena with a lowrider cruise along Mission Street and through the local area. Lowriders will gather at 4 p.m. on Mission Street between Cesar Chavez and 22nd Street. Some transit corridors may become blocked for temporary periods of time.

There is no planned street closure. Temporary transit detour and traffic congestion should be expected.
