Hardly Strictly Bluegrass

Friday, Oct. 4 through Sunday, Oct. 6: The Hardly Strictly Bluegrass free live music will take place at Hellman Hollow and at Marx and Lindley meadows in Golden Gate Park. The concert will be held from 1 to 7 p.m. on Friday and from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, each day. An attendance of 150,000 participants is expected each day. The park streets in the immediate area will be closed. No city street closures will be required.

Taxi

Temporary taxi stands for the event will be in place at the following locations from 11 a.m., Friday, Oct. 4 to 10 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 6:

Events at Chase Center

Friday, Oct. 4 to Wednesday, Oct. 9: There will be two events to take place at Chase Center:
  • Friday, Oct. 4: Performance by Kygo, will take place. Concert will start time at 7 p.m. Doors will open at 6 p.m.
  • Wednesday, Oct. 9: Voyage to the Blue Planet by Weezer will take place. Performance will start at 7 p.m. Doors will open at 6 p.m.

Street Closures

To accommodate events that will take place at the arena, the following street closures will be enforced two hours before and one hour after each event:

  • 16th Street between 3rd Street and Terry Francois Boulevard
  • Warriors Way between 3rd Street and Terry Francois Boulevard
  • Northbound 3rd Street between 16th Street and Warriors Way will also be closed approximately 30 minutes before and 45 minutes after an event.
  • Only local access will be allowed on Northbound Illinois Street between Mariposa and 16th streets.

Taxi Stands

There is one taxi stand located on southbound Terry Francois Boulevard.

Ramp Taxis should use the loading zone on eastbound Warriors Way at Bridgeview Way.

Glen Park Art Walk

Saturday, Oct. 5: The Glen Park Art Walk will take place from noon. to 5 p.m. For additional information, visit www.artwalksf.com.

The following street closures will be required from 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.:

  • Diamond Street between Chenery and Bosworth streets
  • Kern Street between Diamond Street and Brompton Avenue
  • Wilder Street between Diamond and Carrie streets
  • Intersections closed: 1) Kern and Diamond streets; and 2) Wilder and Diamond streets

Italian Heritage Parade Block Party

Saturday, Oct. 5: The Italian Heritage Parade Committee will hold a small street celebration in advance of the parade which will take place the following week.

A street closure of Stockton Street between Union and Filbert streets will be required from 3 to 9 p.m., Sunday.

Blessing of the Fishing Fleet

Sunday, Oct. 6: The annual La Madonna de Lume parade and the Blessing of the Fishing Fleet will begin with a procession at 2 p.m. from Saint Peter and Paul’s Church on Washington Square. The procession will proceed to Jefferson Street between Jones and Taylor streets via Columbus Avenue and Leavenworth Street for the blessing celebration at approximately 3 p.m. The parade will consist of about 100 people, two vehicles.

The following street closures will be required:

  • From 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.:           Filbert Street between Stockton and Powell streets
  • From 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.:         Jefferson Street between Jones to Taylor streets

Castro Street Fair

Sunday, Oct. 6: The 50th annual Castro Street Fair will take place from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. For more details, visit www.castrostreetfair.org.

The following street closures will be required from 4 a.m. to 10 p.m.:

  • Castro Street between 16th and 19th streets
  • Market Street between Noe and Diamond streets
  • 17th Street between Hartford and Castro streets
  • 18th Street between Noe and Eureka streets
  • Hartford Street between 19th and 17th streets
  • Collingwood Street between 19th and Market streets
  • Diamond Street between Market and 18th streets
There will be a temporary taxi stand at the west side of Noe Street, north of 18th Street for pick up and drop off only.

U.S. Navy Fleet Week

Monday, Oct. 7 through Monday, Oct. 14: Fleet Week will be held along Fisherman’s Wharf, the Marina District and Piers 30, 32 & 35 on The Embarcadero.

The Blue Angels will have official shows from Friday, Oct. 11 to Sunday, Oct. 13. Shows will begin at noon, each day, Friday through Sunday.

From Wednesday, Oct. 9 through Monday, Oct. 14, the Parade of Ships, air shows and ship tours will be held to celebrate the U.S. Navy Fleet Week. These events will impact the Fisherman’s Wharf area and the Marina District.

The celebration will begin on Friday at 11 a.m. with the Parade of Ships and continue on Saturday and Sunday, from Noon to 4 p.m. Ship tours will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 9, Thursday, Oct. 10, Saturday, Oct. 12 and Sunday, Oct. 9. Ship tours will be open from 9 a.m. to Noon on Monday, Oct. 14.

Street Closures

Jefferson Street between Hyde Street and westerly terminus will be closed from 6 a.m., Friday, Oct. 11 to 10 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 13.

From 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., each day, Friday, Oct. 11 through Sunday, Oct. 13

  • F Market & Wharves line will be supplemented by F-line shuttle buses to and from Embarcadero Station and Fisherman’s Wharf.
  • 49 Van Ness/Mission route will be supplemented with additional buses between Van Ness/Market and Van Ness/North Point.
  • 28 19th Avenue route will be supplemented with additional buses between Daly City BART and Van Ness/North Point

Taxi stands to allow taxis to service the event are at the following locations:

  • Beach and Hyde streets
  • Pier 39
  • Alcatraz Landing/Pier 33
