Dreamforce Convention

  • Monday, Sept. 9 through Sunday, Sept 22: A street closure of Howard Street between 3rd and 4th streets will be required for the Dreamforce Convention beginning at 6 a.m., Monday, Sept. 9 and continuing through 10 p.m., Sunday, Sept 22.

    Monday, Sept. 16, through Thursday, Sept 29: A daytime street closure of 4th Street between Mission and Howard streets will be required for the Dreamforce Convention, daily, from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.

    Monday, Sept. 16 through Thursday, Sept 19. During the street closure hours, the following additional traffic controls will be in place:

    • Southbound travel restricted on Stockton Street at Post and O’Farrell streets
    • Southbound travel restricted on 4th Street at Mission Street
    • “Local Access” only allowed on: 1) Minna Street between 4th and 5thstreets; 2) Stockton Street from Post to Geary streets; 3) Stockton Street from O’Farrell to Market streets; and 4) 4th Street from Market to Mission streets
    • “One Way” travel on Howard Street will be converted to “Two Way” for local access to businesses and residents on Howard between 5th and 4th streets.
    • Muni buses will not be impacted by the listed daily street closures and travel restrictions
    • Muni will continue to use regular routing and regular bus stops on Stockton Street and on 4th Street
    • 4th Street from Mission to Howard streets will reopen to regular traffic overnight, from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., and all related travel controls will also clear during these hours.

    Monday, Sept. 16, through Thursday, Sept. 19: The Salesforce Corporation will be holding its yearly Dreamforce Convention at the Moscone Center. Conference hours will be from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday, with conference registration on Monday. An attendance of 45,000 is expected at Moscone Center North, South and West.     Significant traffic congestion is anticipated in and around Moscone Center, particularly on streets immediately east of 3rd Street, on Mason Street from Sutter to Market streets and on 5th Street from Market to Harrison streets, especially during mornings and afternoons. Travelers are encouraged to take public transportation or use alternate routes. There will be heavy pedestrian traffic in the Moscone Center area.

    Howard Street traffic will be detoured via southbound 2nd Street to Harrison Street, or via New Montgomery Street to Hawthorne Street to either Folsom or Harrison streets.

    Traffic on Stockton Street and 4th Street will be detoured via Mason, Cyril Magnin and 5th Street from Sutter to Howard streets.

    Signage will be placed in advance of the street closures and detour routes.

    SFMTA Parking Control Officers and San Francisco Police Officers will be deployed at key intersections throughout the closures.

    There will be temporary taxi stands for pick up and drop off only:

    • Eastside of Third Street (northbound) between Howard and Minna streets
    • W Hotel white zone, north side corner, east of Third Street.

Giants Ballpark – Dreamfest’24

From 5 p.m. to midnight, Wednesday, Sept. 18: 30,000 attendees walking or taking taxi to the DreamFest’24 event at the ballpark, temporary taxi stands will be available at the following locations for pick up and drop off only:

      • East side of 2nd Street between King and Townsend streets
      • West side of 2nd street between King and Townsend streets
      • East side of 3rd street between King and Townsend streets

San Francisco Giants Baseball Games

Thursday, Sept. 12 through Sunday, Sept. 15: The San Francisco Giants will play four home games at the ballpark. Listed below are start times for these games:
  • One game against the Milwaukee Brewers: 1) 6:45 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 12.
  • Three games against the San Diego Padres: 1) 7:15 p.m., Friday, Sept. 13; 2) 6:05 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 14; and 3) 1:05 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 15.

Street Closures

To accommodate events that will take place at the ballpark, the following street closures will be enforced:

  • Two and a half hours before the opening pitch, the SFMTA will close eastbound King Street between 3rd and 2nd streets to vehicle traffic. King Street will reopen after first pitch until the seventh inning.
  • From the seventh inning until post-game traffic dies down, the SFMTA will again close eastbound King Street between 3rd and 2nd streets to vehicle traffic in order to reduce congestion on city streets.
  • Additionally, the northbound portion of the 4th Street Bridge (Peter R. Maloney Bridge) will be closed to all traffic except Muni, taxis and bicycles during the post-game period.

  • 2nd Street, west side, between Brannan and King Streets
  • 2nd Street, east side, between Townsend and King Streets
  • 3rd Street, west side, north of King Street

Events at Chase Center

Thursday, Sept. 12 to Saturday, Sept. 14: There will be two events to take place at Chase Center:
  • Thursday, Sept. 12: Performance by Incubus will take place. Concert will start time at 7:30 p.m. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m.
  • Saturday, Sept. 14: Nick Cannon will present Wild ‘n Out Live Tour 2024. Performance will start at 8 p.m. Doors will open at 7 p.m.

Street ClosuresTo accommodate events that will take place at the arena, the following street closures will be enforced two hours before and one hour after each event:

  • 16th Street between 3rd Street and Terry Francois Boulevard
  • Warriors Way between 3rd Street and Terry Francois Boulevard
  • Northbound 3rd Street between 16th Street and Warriors Way will also be closed approximately 30 minutes before and 45 minutes after an event.
  • Only local access will be allowed on Northbound Illinois Street between Mariposa and 16th streets.

Taxi Stands

There is one taxi stand located on southbound Terry Francois Boulevard.

Ramp Taxis should use the loading zone on eastbound Warriors Way at Bridgeview Way.

Chinatown Autumn Moon Festival

Saturday, Sept. 14 and Sunday, Sept. 15: The Autumn Moon Festival, will transform the iconic Grant Avenue in San Francisco Chinatown for two days, Saturday and Sunday, into an attractive Asian-themed corridor with outdoor dining, cultural exhibits, children’s activities, martial arts, art displays and vendor offerings. The festival will take place between 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. each day. For event details, visit www.moonfestival.org.

Friday, Sept. 13 to Sunday, Sept. 15: The following street closures will be required from 10 p.m., Friday to 11:59 p.m., Sunday:

  • Grant Avenue from California Street to Broadway
  • Commercial Street from Kearny Street to Grant Avenue
  • Intersection: Commercial Street at Grant Avenue

Bhangra and Beats Night Market

Friday, Sept. 13: A dance party and social event will take place in the vicinity of Battery and Clay streets from 5 to 10 p.m. as part of Downtown Revitalization activities. For more details, visit bhangraandbeats.com .

The following street closures will be required from 11 a.m., Friday to 2 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 14:

  • Battery Street between Washington and Sacramento California streets
  • Clay Street between Sansome and Front streets
  • Merchant Street between Sansome and Battery streets
  • Intersections at Battery Street: Clay and Merchant streets

Chinatown Night Market

Friday, Sept. 13: The monthly night market will take place in Chinatown. This is an event that takes place on the second Friday of each month, from 5:30 to 9 p.m., through Nov. 2024.

The following street closures will be required from 3 to 10 p.m., Friday:

  • Grant Avenue between Sacramento and Jackson streets
  • Commercial Street between Kearny Street and Grant Avenue
  • Intersection: Grant Avenue and Commercial Street

Haight Ashbury Street Fair

Sunday, Sept. 15: The 45th annual Haight Ashbury Street Fair will take place in the Haight-Ashbury District. The event will be held from 11 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. For event details, visit Haight Ashbury Street Fair.

The following street closures will be required from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Sunday:

  • Haight Street between Masonic and Stanyan streets
  • Ashbury Street between Page and Waller streets
  • Clayton Street between Page and Waller streets
  • Cole Street between Page and Waller streets
  • Belvedere Street between Page and Waller streets
  • Shrader Street between Page and Waller streets
  • Intersections: Ashbury, Clayton, Shrader, Cole and Belvedere at Haight Street

Ocean Beach Surf Film Festival

Friday Sept. 13 through Sunday Sept. 15: The first annual Ocean Beach Surf Film Festival celebrates the San Francisco surf scene, combining a mix of classic and modern surf films with live music and a healthy dose of local surf history for three days and nights will take place at the Historic Balboa Theater.

On Sunday Sept. 15, a street closure of Balboa Street between 37th and 38th avenues will be required from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
