Saturday, Aug. 8 and Sunday, Aug. 9: The 33^rd annual Pistahan Festival will take place at Yerba Buena Gardens from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., each day. For more event details, visit www.pistahan.net.

Saturday, Aug. 8: A parade for the Pistahan Arts Festival will begin at Grove and Larkin streets in Civic Center with an opening ceremony at 10 a.m.

The parade will start at 11 a.m. traveling east on Grove Street, east on Market Street, south to 4^th Street and into Yerba Buena Gardens, where the Pistahan Festival will be held on both Saturday and Sunday.

Cross traffic will be allowed between parade units on an intermittent basis. Motorists should allow extra travel time if planning to cross Market Street between 8^th and 4^th streets.

Thursday, Aug. 6: The Downtown First Thursdays (DFT) event will take place on 2^nd Street from 5 to 10 p.m. This is a free monthly street party that takes place on every first Thursday of the month. For more details, visit www.dftsf.com.

The following street closures will be required from noon until midnight, Thursday, Aug. 6:

• 2^nd Street between Market and Howard streets
• Jessie Street between New Montgomery and 2^nd streets
• Minna Street between New Montgomery and 1^st streets
• Natoma Street between New Montgomery and 1^st streets
• Stevenson Street between New Montgomery and 1^st streets

These intersections will remain open at all times: 1) 2^nd and Mission streets; 2) 2^nd and Howard streets.

• Thursday, Aug. 6: Performance by Lionel Richie will take place. The concert will start at 7:30 p.m. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m.
• Wednesday, Aug. 12: Golden State Valkyries will play against the Chicago Sky. The game will start at 7 p.m. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m.

3. Northbound 3^rd Street between 16^th Street and Warriors Way will also be closed approximately 30 minutes before and 45 minutes after the event.

• There is one taxi stand located on southbound Terry Francois Boulevard.
• Ramp Taxis should use the loading zone on eastbound Warriors Way at Bridgeview Way.

• Three games against the Detroit Tigers: a) 7:15 p.m., Friday, Aug. 7; b) 4:15 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 8; and c) 1:05 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 9.
• Three games against the Houston Astros: a) 6:45 p.m., Monday, Aug. 10; b) 6:45 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 11; and c) 12:45 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 12.

• Two and a half hours before the opening pitch, the SFMTA will close eastbound King Street between 3^rd and 2^nd streets to vehicle traffic. King Street will reopen after first pitch until the seventh inning.
• From the seventh inning until post-game traffic dies down, the SFMTA will again close eastbound King Street between 3^rd and 2^nd streets to vehicle traffic in order to reduce congestion on city streets.
• Additionally, the northbound portion of the 4th Street Bridge (Peter R. Maloney Bridge) will be closed to all traffic except Muni, taxis and bicycles during the post-game period.

• 2^nd Street, west side, between Brannan and King Streets
• 2^nd Street, east side, between Townsend and King Streets
• 3^rd Street, east side, north of King Street

Saturday, Aug. 8: The Tenderloin Lower Polk Merchants and Property Owners Association will host their monthly Roadway Shared Space on Larkin Street.

Larkin Street between Eddy and O’Farrell streets will be closed from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 8.

These closures will occur on the second Saturday of every month through Saturday, Dec. 13, 2026.
