Mission Crit 6 Bike Race

Saturday, April 20: The Mission Crit 6 bicycle event will take place in Mission District from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m. A series of bicycle races will take place on city streets around Harrison and 17th streets. For event details visit http://missioncrit.com/.

The following street closures will be required from 8 a.m. to midnight:

  • Treat Avenue between 16th and 18th streets
  • Harrison Street between 16th and 18th streets
  • 18th Street between Folsom and Harrison streets
  • 17th Street between Folsom and Alabama streets
  • Mariposa Street between Harrison and Alabama streets
  • Alabama Street between 17th and Mariposa streets;
  • Intersections:
    • 17th, 18th and Mariposa streets at Harrison Street
    • 17th and 18th streets at Treat Avenue

Event at Golden Gate Park

Saturday, April 20: A large group of participants is expected to gather at Robin Williams Meadow (formerly Sharon Meadows) and in the Alvord Lake area in the southeast of Golden Gate Park.

San Francisco Police Department will enforce the following street closures beginning at 10 a.m.:

  • Haight, Page and Waller streets between Masonic and Stanyan streets
  • Stanyan Street between Frederick and Oak streets
  • Shrader Street between Beulah and Waller streets
  • Various intersections in and around the event area:
    • Oak and Waller streets at Ashbury, Clayton, Shrader, Cole and Belvedere streets
    • Frederick Street at Shrader Street
    • Beulah Street at Shrader and Cole streets

During the time of street closures, no traffic will be allowed with the exception of Muni buses. Personnel from San Francisco Police Department may enforce additional street closures as crowds grow for public safety.

Extensive delays and heavy pedestrian traffic are expected around the event area. Motorists who normally use Lincoln Way, Fell or Oak streets to travel between the Sunset District and downtown are strongly encouraged to use alternate routes. Heavy traffic and delays are also anticipated for Fulton Street, on both sides of Stanyan Street. Motorists should anticipate that Kezar Drive will be closed from early afternoon until early evening.

Cherry Blossom Festival and Grand Parade

Saturday, April 20 and Sunday, April 21: The 52nd Annual Cherry Blossom Festival will be held from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. each day with the Grand Parade being held on Sunday. For event details visit www.sfcherryblossom.org.

The following street closures will be required for the festival:

From 4 a.m., Saturday to 11 p.m., Sunday:

  • Post Street between Fillmore and Laguna streets
  • Webster Street between Geary Boulevard and Sutter Street
  • Buchanan Street between Sutter and Bush streets
  • Intersection: Post Street at Webster Street

From 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Sunday:

  • Post Street between Fillmore and Steiner streets (local access will be allowed)
  • Boswell Street between Geary Boulevard and Post Street
  • Intersection: Boswell Street at Post Street

The parade units will gather at Civic Center at 11 a.m. on Sunday for the Cherry Blossom Grand Parade. The parade will begin at 1 p.m. and follow a route from Polk and McAllister streets, north on Polk Street and west on Post Street to disband between Fillmore and Steiner streets.

Easter Sunrise on Mount Davidson

Sunday, April 21: The annual Easter Sunrise Service at Mount Davidson Cross will begin at 7:00 a.m. The SFMTA will provide supplemental Muni service on the 36 Teresita route beginning at 5:30 a.m. until the start of the service from Forest Hill Station to Myra Way and Dalewood Way. After the service concludes, Muni will provide service from Myra Way and Dalewood Way to Forest Hill Station.

Union Street Spring Festival and Easter Parade

Sunday, April 21: The 28th Union Street Spring Celebration will take place on Union Street between Gough and Fillmore streets from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The Easter Parade will start at 2 p.m. For event details visit www.unionstreetevents.com.

Formation of the parade will be on Green Street between Franklin and Gough streets. The parade will begin at 2 p.m. on Green Street, then proceed north on Gough Street, west on Union Street, north on Fillmore Street and east onto Filbert Street where the parade will disband.

The following street closures will be required from 2 a.m. to 11 p.m.:

  • Union Street between Gough and Fillmore streets
  • Octavia Street between Filbert and Green streets
  • Laguna Street between Filbert and Green streets
  • Webster Street between Filbert and Green streets
  • Buchanan Street from Filbert and Green streets
  • Intersections: Octavia, Laguna, Buchanan and Webster street at Union Street

The following street closure will be required from noon to 3 p.m.:

  • Green Street between Franklin and Gough streets

Cruise Ship Schedule : April – June

Typically passengers begin to disembark 45 minutes after the ship arrives and unloading continues for a couple of hours
