Basketball Game at Chase Center

Thursday, April 7: The Warriors will play against the Los Angeles Lakers. Game will begin at 7 p.m. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m.

Street Closures

To accommodate events that will take place at the arena, the following street closures will be enforced two hours before and one hour after each event:

  • 16th Street between 3rd Street and Terry Francois Boulevard
  • Warriors Way between 3rd Street and Terry Francois Boulevard
  • Northbound 3rd Street between 16th Street and Warriors Way will also be closed approximately 30 minutes before and 45 minutes after an event.
  • Only local access will be allowed on Northbound Illinois Street between Mariposa and 16th streets.
Taxi Stands
  • There is one taxi stand located on southbound Terry Francois Boulevard.
  • Ramp Taxis should use the loading zone on eastbound Warriors Way (formerly South Street) at Bridgeview Way.

San Francisco Giants Baseball Games

Friday, April 8 through next Wednesday, April 13: The San Francisco Giants will play six home games at the ballpark. Listed below are teams to play and start times for these games:
  • Three games against the Miami Marlins: 1) 1:35 p.m., Friday, April 8; 2) 1:05 p.m., Saturday, April 9; and 3) 1:05 p.m., Sunday, April 10.
  • Three games against the San Diego Padres: 1) 6:45 p.m., Monday, April 11; 2) 6:45 p.m., Tuesday, April 12; and 3) 12:45 p.m., Wednesday, April 13.

Street Closures

To accommodate events that will take place at the ballpark, the following street closures will be enforced:

  • Two and a half hours before the opening pitch, the SFMTA will close eastbound King Street between 3rd and 2nd streets to vehicle traffic. King Street will reopen after first pitch until the seventh inning.
  • From the seventh inning until post-game traffic dies down, the SFMTA will again close eastbound King Street between 3rd and 2nd streets to vehicle traffic in order to reduce congestion on city streets.
  • Additionally, the northbound portion of the 4th Street Bridge (Peter R. Maloney Bridge) will be closed to all traffic except Muni, taxis and bicycles during the post-game period.
Taxi Stands
  • 2nd Street, west side, between Brannan and King Streets
  • 2nd Street, east side, between Townsend and King Streets
  • 3rd Street, east side, north of King Street

Cherry Blossom Festival

Saturday, April 9 and Sunday, April 10: The 55th.Annual Cherry Blossom Festival will be held for two consecutive weekends, April 9-10 and April 16-17. The festival will take place from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., each day. For event details visit www.sfcherryblossom.org.

The following street closures will be required beginning 4 a.m., Saturday through 11 p.m., Sunday:

  • Post Street between Laguna and Fillmore streets
  • Webster Street between Geary Boulevard and Sutter Street
  • Buchanan Street between Bush and Sutter streets
  • Intersection:  Webster Street at Post Street

Cesar Chavez Parade

Saturday, April 9: The annual Cesar Chavez Parade will begin at 11 a.m. Participants will gather at 19th Street between Dolores and Guerrero streets at 10 a.m. The festival will be held on 24th Street between Folsom and Bryant streets from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. For details visit cesarchavezday.org.

The parade will proceed from Dolores and 19th streets, east on 19th Street, south on Mission Street, east on 24th Street to Folsom Street. The festival area will take place on 24th Street between Treat and Bryant streets. Streets will re-open as the parade passes.

The following closures will be required for the festival from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.:

  • 24th Street between Folsom and Bryant streets
  • Lucky Street between 24th and 25th streets
  • Treat Street between 23rd and 25th streets
  • Balmy Street between 24th and 25th streets
  • Harrison Street between 23rd and 25th streets
  • Alabama Street between 23rd and 25th streets
  • Florida Street between 23rd and 25th streets
  • Intersections closed at 23rd Street: Lucky, Treat, Balmy, Harrison, Alabama and Florida streets.

Nepal Day Parade

On Saturday, April 9, there will be a Nepal Day Parade on Market Street to celebrate the Nepali New Year. The parade will gather at Embarcadero Plaza at 10:30 a.m., depart Embarcadero Plaza at 11:30 a.m., arrive UN Plaza at around 12:30 p.m., and celebrate at UN Plaza until 2 p.m. Personnel from San Francisco Police Department will escort the parade along the westbound lanes of Market Street.

There is no planned street closure. Temporary transit detour and traffic congestion should be expected. Traffic along the parade route should expect minor delay. Travelers to the area should allow extra travel time.

Sunday Streets -Tenderloin

Sunday, April 14: Sunday Streets will take place in the Tenderloin neighborhoods. The event route travels along Larkin Street from Grove to O’Farrell streets, Ellis Street from Larkin to Taylor streets, and Golden Gate Avenue from Polk to Jones streets. The route will be available for recreational activities from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Sunday Streets is an open streets event put on as a joint project between the SFMTA and Livable City to promote active lifestyle and bicycle and pedestrian activities. Streets will be closed to traffic and turned over for bike and pedestrian activities for these events. The event is free to all participants. For event details visit www.sundaystreetssf/tenderloin.

The following street closures will be required from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

  • Ellis Street between Larkin and Taylor streets
  • Golden Gate Avenue between Polk and Jones streets
  • Larkin Street between Grove and O’Farrell Streets
  • Intersections: Fulton Street, Golden Gate Avenue, Turk Street and Ellis Street at Larkin Street; Ellis Street and Golden Gate Avenue at Hyde Street

*Local access will be allowed along the route
Cross traffic will be allowed at the following locations:

  • Eastbound on McAllister Street
  • East and westbound on Eddy Street at Larkin and Leavenworth streets
  • Northbound on Leavenworth Street

Third Annual SFMOMA Soap Box Derby

On Saturday, April 10, the Soapbox Derby will return to the McLaren Park for the first time in over 40 years! For event details visit www.sfmoma.org/2022-soapbox-derby.

The free community event will take place from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Jerry Garcia Amphitheater and on Shelley Drive. Attendance of over 10,000 people is expected. Car parking is very limited inside the park and in the surrounding neighborhoods.
