San Francisco Giants Baseball Games

Thursday, Aug. 12 through Wednesday, Aug. 18: The San Francisco Giants will play seven home games at the ballpark. Listed below are start times for these games:
  • Four games against the Colorado Rockies: 1) 6:45 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 12; 2) 6:45 p.m., Friday, Aug. 13; 3) 6:05 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 14; and 4) 1:05 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 15.
  • Three games against the New York Mets: 1) 6:45 p.m., Monday, Aug. 16; 2) 6:45 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 17; and 3) 12:45 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 18.

Street Closures

To accommodate events that will take place at the ballpark, the following street closures will be enforced:

  • Two and a half hours before the opening pitch, the SFMTA will close eastbound King Street between 3rd and 2nd streets to vehicle traffic. This change is to accommodate social distancing for fans entering the ballpark. King Street will reopen after first pitch until the seventh inning.
  • From the seventh inning until post-game traffic dies down, the SFMTA will again close eastbound King Street between 3rd and 2nd streets to vehicle traffic in order to reduce congestion on city streets.
  • Additionally, the northbound portion of the 4th Street Bridge (Peter R. Maloney Bridge) will be closed to all traffic except Muni, taxis and bicycles during the post-game period.

  • 2nd Street, west side, between Brannan and King Streets
  • 2nd Street, east side, between Townsend and King Streets
  • 3rd Street, east side, north of King Street

Low Rider 40th Anniversary Event

Saturday, Aug. 14:  The San Francisco Low Rider Council will be conducting a 40th Anniversary cruise and celebration from 2 to 10 p.m. Event will take place on Mission Street between 23rd and 26th streets; and on 24th Street from Osage Street to South Van Ness Avenue.

Travelers heading the event area should allow extra travel time, should expect heavy traffic and possible street closures around the event area during the event hours:

  • Mission Street between 22nd Street and Cesar Chavez
  • 24th Street between Valencia Street and South Van Ness Avenue

Escape From Alcatraz Triathlon

Sunday, August 15: The 40th annual “Escape from Alcatraz” Triathlon will begin at 7:30 a.m. with a swim from a barge off of Alcatraz into the beach next to the St. Francis Yacht Club. For event details visit www.escapealcatraztri.com.

Bike riders will leave Marina Green, then bike into the Presidio to the Great Highway through Golden Gate Park and back to the Marina for the run to Baker Beach and back to the finish line on Marina Green.

The northernmost lanes of Marina Boulevard between Scott and Lyon streets will be closed between 5:30 a.m. and 1 p.m.
Note: Marina Boulevard will be open for both eastbound and westbound traffic with an exception of one lane closure in each direction.

The route of the bicycle portion of the triathlon will be as follows: from Marina Green into the Presidio to Legion of Honor Drive, right on Clement to Great Highway, through Golden Gate Park via Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive to Transverse, and return via John F. Kennedy Drive on the same route to Marina Green.

The entire bike route will be heavily monitored by San Francisco Police Department personnel, SFMTA Parking Control Officers and race officials. Traffic will be slow in the affected areas and motorists may be delayed as the race passes.

The route of the running portion of the triathlon will be as follows: from Marina Green into the Presidio, down to Baker Beach and back to the finish line on the Marina Green.
