Chinatown Autumn Moon Festival

Saturday, Aug. 27 and Sunday, Aug. 28: The annual Chinatown Autumn Moon Festival will take place between 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. each day. For more event details, visit www.moonfestival.org.

The following street closures will be required from 6 p.m., Friday, Aug. 26 to 1 a.m., Monday, Aug. 29:

  • Grant Avenue from California Street to Broadway
  • Washington Street from Wentworth Street to Stockton Street
  • Commercial Street from Kearny Street to Grant Avenue
  • Waverly Place from Washington Street to Clay Street
  • Beckett Street between Jackson Street and Pacific Avenue
  • Wentworth Street between Jackson and Washington streets
  • Intersections: Pacific and Grant, Washington and Grant, Waverly and Washington, Ross and Washington, Wentworth and Washington, Becket and Pacific

Festa Coloniale Italiana

Saturday, Aug. 27: The annual Festa Coloniale Italiana will take place in the North Beach area along Stockton Street between Union and Filbert streets from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. For more event details, visit www.sfiacfoundation.com.

Stockton Street between Union and Filbert streets will be closed from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday.

SF Giants Baseball Games

Monday, Aug. 29 through Wednesday, Aug. 31: The San Francisco Giants will play three home games at the ballpark. Listed below are start times for these games:
  • Three games against the San Diego Padres: 1) 6:45 p.m., Monday, Aug. 29; 2) 6:45 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 30; and 3) 12:45 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 31.

Street Closures

To accommodate events that will take place at the ballpark, the following street closures will be enforced:

  • Two and a half hours before the opening pitch, the SFMTA will close eastbound King Street between 3rd and 2nd streets to vehicle traffic. King Street will reopen after first pitch until the seventh inning.
  • From the seventh inning until post-game traffic dies down, the SFMTA will again close eastbound King Street between 3rd and 2nd streets to vehicle traffic in order to reduce congestion on city streets.
  • Additionally, the northbound portion of the 4th Street Bridge (Peter R. Maloney Bridge) will be closed to all traffic except Muni, taxis and bicycles during the post-game period.

  • 2nd Street, west side, between Brannan and King Streets
  • 2nd Street, east side, between Townsend and King Streets
  • 3rd Street, east side, north of King Street

Across the Bay 12K & 5K

  • Sunday, Aug. 28: The Across the Bay 12K & 5K run is a footrace benefiting the Edgewood Children Center. The 12K run, will begin at 7:30 a.m. and travel from East Fort Baker in Marin County to Aquatic Park. The 5K run will start and end in San Francisco, from Aquatic Park to Crissy Field and back.     For the full 12K route, runners will leave East Fort Baker, run over the Golden Gate Bridge via the west walkway, exit walkway into Golden Gate Bridge Maintenance Yard using roadway to Lincoln Boulevard, then proceed east on Battery East Road bicycle route and pedestrian pathway to Long Avenue.  After looping around Fort Mason, runners will proceed along the Golden Gate Promenade, out the Marina Gate to Marina Boulevard, then through Fort Mason to Aquatic Park.

    The following street closures will be required:

    From 4 a.m., Saturday, to 3 p.m., Sunday

    • Beach Street between Polk Street to Westerly Terminus
    From 11:59 p.m., Saturday to 1 p.m., Sunday
    • Van Ness Avenue between the Muni turn-round and Northerly Terminus
    From 6:30 to 11 a.m., Sunday*
    • Westbound Marina Boulevard between Marina Gate at Lyon Street and Laguna Street
    Note:
    * There will be a lane shift on Marina Boulevard to accommodate both eastbound and westbound traffic
