After the success of its first year, it was deemed prudent to bring the Clusterfest back to San Francisco for a second go around. Dozens of performers will be featured throughout the three-day event in the Civic Center, including such names as Jon Stewart, Trevor Noah, John Mulaney and many more comedic and musical acts. On top of the performances, the event will allow attendees to step into the worlds of some of their favorite television shows with recreations of Paddy’s Pub from It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, the Bluth’s Frozen Banana Stand from Arrested Development, and more.
The following street closures will be required during time specified:
From 6 a.m., Monday, May 28 to 4 p.m., Wednesday, June 6
- Grove Street between Polk and Larkin streets
- Fulton Street between Larkin and Hyde streets
From 10 a.m., Tuesday, May 29 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, June 5
- Larkin Street (southbound) between Grove and McAllister streets
- Larkin Street (northbound two right lanes) between Grove and McAllister streets
From 6 a.m., Thursday, May 31 to 6 a.m., Tuesday, June 5
- Grove Street between Larkin and Hyde streets
From 8 p.m., Thursday, May 31 to 6 a.m., Monday, June 4
- Larkin Street between Hayes and McAllister streets
- Polk Street between Hayes and McAllister streets
- Grove Street between Van Ness Avenue and Polk Street
Union Street Festival
Saturday and Sunday, 10 am to 6 pm

Still going strong after 42 years, the Union Street Festival is one of San Francisco’s largest annual free events that’s showing no signs of slowing down. Taking place on Union Street between Gough and Steiner streets, the festival will, for the second consecutive year, feature over 24 live bands spanning a wide array of genres scattered throughout the length of the event. The staples of the event that have made it what it is will still be in place, including arts and crafts exhibitors, food vendors, and beer and wine gardens.
The following street closures will be required from 12:01 a.m., Saturday, to midnight, Sunday:
- Union Street between Gough and Fillmore streets
- Octavia Street between Green and Filbert streets
- Laguna Street between Green and Filbert streets
- Buchanan Street between Green and Filbert streets
- Webster Street between Green and Filbert streets
- Intersections: Union Street at Octavia, Laguna, Buchanan and Webster streets
Fillmore Street will remain open for through traffic, it may be congested due to crowds. Local access for residents will be allowed on the impacted streets except for Union Street.
Escape from Alcatraz Triathlon

If you’ve been feeling like an early morning mile-and-a-half swim, a nice long bike ride, and a cool-down run, then this Sunday has just the event for you. The Escape From Alcatraz Triathlon allows athletes from around the world to compete for a chance to accomplish the impossible task of the race’s namesake. No man is known to have ever successfully escaped from The Rock, though a handful of attempts were made –with the most famous being the basis of the novel and subsequent film which share a name with the event– so it is no small feat to be the first across the finish line.
Statuto Race
Sunday, June 3: The 98th annual Italian Club Statuto Race will begin at 9 a.m. in North Beach. This race consists of an eight-mile run and a two-mile walk starting from Washington Square Park to North Point to Herb Caen Way along the waterfront to Bryant Street and return to Washington Square.

Sunday Streets – Sunset/Golden Gate Park
Sunday, June 3: The fifth Sunday Streets event will be held in the Sunset District, traveling through Golden Gate Park and along the Great Highway. The Sunset Sunday Streets event will cover a route between John F. Kennedy Drive at Transverse Drive and Great Highway at Sloat Boulevard. The route will be available for recreational activities from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The event is free to all participants.
The headquarters for the event will be located at John F. Kennedy Drive at Transverse Drive, where participants can get details about activities along the event route as well as at Lincoln Boulevard and Great Highway.

The following street closures for motor vehicles will be required from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Sunday:
- Westbound Lincoln Way between Great Highway and Martin Luther King Jr. Drive
- Great Highway between Sloat Blvd and Lincoln Way
- Martin Luther King Jr. Dr between Lincoln Way to Middle Dr W
- Transverse Dr. from Middle Dr West to John F. Kennedy Drive
- John F. Kennedy Dr from Transverse Dr. to the regular Sunday car free street under Crossover Dr.
Golf course access will be allowed at Fulton and 47th Avenue only.
Through traffic will be allowed on:
- Chain of Lakes Drive between 43rd Avenue (north side of Golden Gate Park) and 41st Avenue (south side of Golden Gate Park)
- Northbound and Southbound Highway 1
- Cross Over Drive to 25th Avenue
- Southbound Great Highway to Lincoln Way
La Playa Street at Lincoln Way will be open for eastbound traffic.

- West side of 2nd street between King and Townsend streets, two spaces

- West side of 3rd street between King and Townsend streets, five spaces
