Visitacion Valley Fair

Saturday, March 10:  The annual Ruth Jackson and Family, Friends and Community Day Festival and Parade will take place.

The event will begin with a 2-hour parade which will start at 11:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. and a community festival will immediately follow at Herz Playground.

The parade will start from Santos Street and Velasco Avenue, will move north on Santos Street, east on Sunnydale Avenue, north on Peabody Street, west on Leland Avenue, south on Cora Street, then west on Visitation Avenue to Hahn Street. The parade will end at approximately 1:30 p.m. at Herz Playground where the community festival will follow.

Start of Daylight Saving Time

Sunday, March 11:  Daylight Saving Time will commence at 2 a.m., requiring clocks to be set forward one hour.

Sunday Streets: The Mission District

Sunday, March 11:  The 2018 season of Sunday Streets will begin in the Mission District. The event will take place on Valencia Street between Duboce Avenue and 26th street.  The route will open the roadway to people walking, bicycling and other recreational activities from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Beginning at 8 a.m., NO PARKING will be allowed on Valencia Street between Duboce Avenue and 26 Street.

From 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Valencia Street between Duboce Avenue and 26th Street will be closed to all vehicular traffic.

Cross traffic at Valencia Street will be allowed on:

  • 14th Street
  • 16th Street
  • 18th Street
  • 24th Street
  • 26th Street
  • Duboce Avenue
