Chase Center Events

Saturday, October 5: The Warriors will start their pre-season games at the Chase Center. The first game against the Los Angeles Lakers will begin at 5 p.m. Doors will open approximately one hour before the event starts.

Monday, October 7 through Thursday, October 10: There will be live concerts and basketball game that will take place at the Chase Center:

  • Monday, October 7: Warriors’ Open Practice event (doors will open at 5:30 p.m.)
  • Tuesday, October 8: Live concert performed by Jonas Brothers (show will begin at 7:30 p.m.)
  • Wednesday, October 9: Live concert performed by The Who (show will begin at 7:30 p.m.)
  • Thursday, October 10: The Warriors will play their second pre-season game against the Minnesota Timberwolves. Game will start at 7:30 p.m.

Street Closures

To accommodate events that will take place at the arena, the following street closures will be enforced two hours before and one hour after each event:

  • 16th Street between 3rd Street and Terry Francois Boulevard
  • Warriors Way between 3rd Street and Terry Francois Boulevard
  • Northbound 3rd Street between 16th Street and Warriors Way will also be closed approximately 30 minutes before an event ends and 45 minutes after an event ends.

Taxi Stands

  • Taxi Stands are located on Terry Francois Boulevard, one northbound and one southbound.
  • Ramp Taxis should use the loading zone on eastbound Warriors Way (formerly South Street) at Bridgeview Way.

Hardly Strictly Bluegrass : Temp Cab Stands

Friday, October 4 through Sunday, October 6: The Hardly Strictly Bluegrass free live music will take place at Hellman Hollow and at Marx and Lindley meadows in Golden Gate Park. The concert will be held from noon to 7 p.m. on Friday and from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, each day. An attendance of 150,000 participants is expected each day. The park streets in the immediate area will be closed. No city street closures will be required.

Taxi

Temporary taxi stands for the event will be in place at the following locations from Friday at 9 a.m. to Monday at 2 a.m.:

  • Fulton Street (south side) between 35th and 36th avenues
  • Fulton Street (south side) between 28th and 29th avenues

Castro Street Fair : Temp Cab Stand

Sunday, October 6: The Castro Street Fair will take place from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. For more details, visit http://www.castrostreetfair.org/.

The following street closures will be required from 4 a.m. to 10 p.m.:

  • Market Street between Noe and Eureka streets
  • Castro Street between 16th and 19th streets
  • 18th Street between Noe and Diamond streets
  • 17th Street between Noe and Market streets
  • Hartford Street between 17th and 19th streets
  • Collingwood Street between Market and 19th Street

There will be a temporary taxi stand at the north side of 16th Street (Corner of Noe and 16th streets) for pick up and drop off only.

U.S. Navy Fleet Week

Monday, October 7 through Monday, October 14: Fleet Week will be held along Fisherman’s Wharf and the Marina District.

The Blue Angels will have official shows on Friday, October 11, Saturday, October 12 and Sunday, October 13, from Noon to 4 p.m., each day.

From Friday through Sunday, the Parade of Ships, air shows and ship tours will be held to celebrate the U.S. Navy Fleet Week. These events will impact the Fisherman’s Wharf area and the Marina District.

The celebration will begin on Friday at 10 a.m. with the Parade of Ships and continue on Saturday and Sunday from Noon to 4 p.m. Ship tours will be open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Friday through Monday. A crowd of over 300,000 is expected each weekend day.

Street Closures

Jefferson Street between Hyde Street and westerly terminus will be closed from 6 a.m., Friday, October 11 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, October 13.

Saturday and Sunday, October 12 and 13

Traffic congestion and disruption of transit service will be expected in the northern section of the city after the Fleet Week Air Shows.

The annual Italian Heritage Day Parade will also take place on Sunday, October 13. The parade will start at 12:30 p.m. at Jefferson and Powell streets. It is anticipated that traffic through the Fisherman’s Wharf area will be congested.

 

Cruise Ship Schedule : October – December

Typically passengers begin to disembark 45 minutes after the ship arrives and unloading continues for a couple of hours.
