GLIDE’s Holiday Meal Service
On Friday, Dec. 24, and Saturday Dec. 25, the GLIDE Foundation will be holding its annual Christmas Eve and Christmas Day meal service to provide hot meals to Tenderloin and San Francisco residents during the holidays.
A street closure of Ellis Street between Taylor and Jones streets will be required from 6 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 23 through 6 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 26, 2021
City Impact Christmas Outreach
On Saturday, Dec. 25, the San Francisco City Impact will be hosting a holiday party for the residents in the Tenderloin District on Jones Street between Eddy and Turk streets.
Jones Street between Eddy and Turk streets will be closed from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 25.
New Year’s Eve: Fireworks
On Friday, Dec. 31, 2021, there will be various celebrations of the New Year hosted throughout San Francisco City. Crowds are expected in the Castro, North Beach, Cow Hollow, and South of Market areas. A free, City-sponsored event with fireworks will occur on The Embarcadero south of the Ferry Building, near Pier 14. Fireworks will take place at midnight and will last for about 15 minutes. To achieve the City’s goals of the “Transit First and Vision Zero” program, event-goers are strongly encouraged to take public transit to their destinations. All Muni Transit Service will be free starting at 8 p.m., Friday, Dec. 31, until 5 a.m. on Saturday, Jan 1, 2022.
Basketball Games at Chase Center

Thursday, Dec. 23, 2021 through Monday, Jan. 3, 2022: The Warriors will play four games:
- Thursday, Dec. 23: The Warriors will play against the Memphis Grizzlies. Game will start at 7 p.m. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m.
- Tuesday, Dec. 28: The Warriors will play against the Denver Nuggets. Game will start at 7 p.m. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m.
- Monday, Jan. 3, 2022: The Warriors will play against the Miami Heat. Game will start at 7 p.m. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m.
Street Closures
To accommodate events that will take place at the arena, the following street closures will be enforced two hours before and one hour after each event:- 16th Street between 3rd Street and Terry Francois Boulevard
- Warriors Way between 3rd Street and Terry Francois Boulevard
- Northbound 3rd Street between 16th Street and Warriors Way will also be closed approximately 30 minutes before and 45 minutes after an event.
- Only local access will be allowed on Northbound Illinois Street between Mariposa and 16th streets.
Taxi Stands- There is one taxi stand located on southbound Terry Francois Boulevard.
- Ramp Taxis should use the loading zone on eastbound Warriors Way (formerly South Street) at Bridgeview Way.
