Downtown First Thursdays

Thursday, Sept. 4: The Downtown First Thursdays (DFT) event will take place on 2nd Street from 5 to 10 p.m. This is a free monthly street party that takes place every first Thursday of the month. For event details, visit www.dftsf.com.

The following street closures will be required from noon until midnight, Thursday:

  • 2nd Street between Market and Folsom streets
  • Clementina Street between 2nd and 1st streets
  • Jessie Street between New Montgomery and 2nd streets
  • Minna Street between New Montgomery and 1st streets
  • Natoma Street between New Montgomery and 1st streets
  • Stevenson Street between New Montgomery and 1st streets
  • Tehama Street between Hawthorne and 1st streets
These intersections will remain open at all times: 1) 2nd and Mission streets; 2) 2nd and Howard streets.

Events at Chase Center

Thursday, Sept. 4 through Saturday, Sept. 6: There will be multiple events to be held at the Chase Center:
  • Thursday, Sept. 4: The Golden State Valkyries will play against the Dallas Wings at the Chase Center. The game will start at 7 p.m. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m.
  • Saturday, Sept. 6: The Golden State Valkyries will play against the Minnesota Lynx at the Chase Center. The game will start at 5:30 p.m. Doors will open at 4 p.m.

Street Closures

To accommodate events that will take place at the arena, the following street closures will be enforced two hours before and one hour after each event:

  • 16th Street between 3rd Street and Terry Francois Boulevard
  • Warriors Way between 3rd Street and Terry Francois Boulevard
  • Northbound 3rd Street between 16th Street and Warriors Way will also be closed approximately 30 minutes before and 45 minutes after the event.
  • Only local access will be allowed on Northbound Illinois Street between Mariposa and 16th streets.

Taxi Stands

There is one taxi stand located on southbound Terry Francois Boulevard.
Ramp Taxis should use the loading zone on eastbound Warriors Way at Bridgeview Way.

River of Life Prayer Breakfast

Saturday, Sept. 6: The River of Life Church’s annual community prayer breakfast will take place from 10:45 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

A street closure of Sunnydale Avenue between Hahn and Sawyer streets will be required from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

 

Sapphic Pride San Francisco

Saturday, Sept. 6: Sapphic Pride is a pride celebration for queer women organized by San Francisco women-owned business. There will be live music, dance performances and food truck. For more details, visit www.eventbrite.com/sf-sapphic-pride.

The following street closures will be required from noon to 11 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 6:

  • Harrison Street between 15th and 16th streets
  • Treat Avenue between 15th and Harrison streets

Haight Ashbury Street Fair

Sunday, Sept. 7: The 46th annual Haight Ashbury Street Fair will take place in the Haight-Ashbury District. The event will be held from 11 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. For event details, visit Haight Ashbury Street Fair.

The following street closures will be required from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Sunday:

  • Haight Street between Masonic and Stanyan streets
  • Ashbury Street between Page and Waller streets
  • Clayton Street between Page and Waller streets
  • Cole Street between Page and Waller streets
  • Belvedere Street between Page and Waller streets
  • Shrader Street between Page and Waller streets
  • Intersections: Ashbury, Clayton, Shrader, Cole and Belvedere at Haight Street

SF Giants Baseball Games

Monday, Sept. 8 through Wednesday, Sept. 10: The San Francisco Giants will play three games at the ballpark. Listed below are the start time for these games:
  • Three games against the Arizona Diamondbacks: 1) 6:45 p.m., Monday, Sept. 8; 2) 6:45 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 9; and 3) 12:45 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 10.

Street Closures

To accommodate events that will take place at the ballpark, the following street closures will be enforced:

  • Two and a half hours before the opening pitch, the SFMTA will close eastbound King Street between 3rd and 2nd streets to vehicle traffic. King Street will reopen after the first pitch until the seventh inning.
  • From the seventh inning until post-game traffic dies down, the SFMTA will again close eastbound King Street between 3rd and 2nd streets to vehicle traffic in order to reduce congestion on city streets.
  • Additionally, the northbound portion of the 4th Street Bridge (Peter R. Maloney Bridge) will be closed to all traffic except Muni, taxis and bicycles during the post-game period.

  • 2nd Street, west side, between Brannan and King Streets
  • 2nd Street, east side, between Townsend and King Streets
  • 3rd Street, west side, north of King Street
