Downtown First Thursdays

Thursday, Oct. 2: The Downtown First Thursdays (DFT) event will take place on 2nd Street from 5 to 10 p.m. This is a free monthly street party that takes place every first Thursday of the month. For event details, visit www.dftsf.com.

The following street closures will be required from noon until midnight, Thursday:

  • 2nd Street between Market and Folsom streets
  • Clementina Street between 2nd and 1st streets
  • Jessie Street between New Montgomery and 2nd streets
  • Minna Street between New Montgomery and 1st streets
  • Natoma Street between New Montgomery and 1st streets
  • Stevenson Street between New Montgomery and 1st streets
  • Tehama Street between Hawthorne and 1st streets
These intersections will remain open at all times: 1) 2nd and Mission streets; 2) 2nd and Howard streets.

Unity Fest

Friday, Oct. 3: As part of the Unity Fest skateboard celebration over the weekend, an event hosted by Double Down Zine will take place on Valencia Street.

To facilitate this event, a street closure of Valencia Street between 14thand 15th streets will be required from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m., Friday, Oct. 3.

Hardly Strictly Bluegrass

Friday, Oct. 3 through Sunday, Oct. 5: The Hardly Strictly Bluegrass free live music festival will take place at Hellman Hollow and at Marx and Lindley meadows in Golden Gate Park. The concert will be held from 1 to 7 p.m. on Friday and from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, each day. An attendance of 150,000 participants is expected each day. The park streets in the immediate area will be closed. No city street closures will be required.

Taxi

Temporary taxi stands for the event will be in place at the following locations from 11 a.m., Friday, Oct. 3 to 8 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 5:

  • Fulton Street (south side) between 22nd and 24th avenues

Richmond District Autumn Moon Festival

Saturday, Oct. 4: The Richmond District Autumn Moon Festival will take place on Clement Street between 8th and 11th avenues, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. For more information, visit www.sfrichmondmoonfest.com.

The following street closures will be required from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 4:

  • Clement Street between 8th and 11th avenues
  • 9th Avenue between Clement Street and 50’ north of Clement Street
  • Intersections closed: 8th, 9th and 10th avenues at Clement Street

Stuff Saturdays – Shared Space

Saturday, Oct. 4: The vintage and modern collective store, Stuff by Luxe, will host a monthly Roadway Shared Space with multiple vendors Street in the Mission District. This event will take place on the first Saturday of each month.

The following street closures will be required from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 4:

  • Harrison Street between 14th and 15th streets
  • Alameda Street between Harrison Street and Treat Avenue
  • Treat Avenue between Division Street/Florida Street and Alameda Street
  • Alabama Street between Treat Avenue and 15th Street
  • 15th Street between Harrison and Alabama streets
  • Treat Avenue between Alabama Street and 16th Street/Harrison Street
These closures will occur on the first Saturday of every month through Saturday, Sept. 5, 2026.

Italian Heritage Parade Block Party

Saturday, Oct. 4: The Italian Heritage Parade Committee will hold a small street celebration in advance of the parade which will take place the following week.

A street closure of Stockton Street between Union and Filbert streets will be required from 2 to 9 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 4.

Dreamforce Convention

Sunday, Oct. 5, through Sunday, Oct. 19: A street closure of Howard Street between 3rd and 4th streets will be required for the Dreamforce Convention beginning at midnight, Sunday, Oct. 5 and continuing through 10 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 19.

Beginning Sunday, Oct. 12, at 10 p.m. there will be a closure of the eastern half of 4th Street between Mission and Folsom streets.

Monday, Oct. 13 through Thursday, Oct. 16, there will be closures each day, from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m., all of 4th Street between Mission and Howard streets to all traffic except Muni and shuttles. During this period, vehicle access to Howard Street between 5th and 4th streets and to 4th Street between Howard and Folsom will be via Howard Street at 5th Street.

Tuesday, Oct. 14, through Thursday, Oct. 16: The Salesforce Corporation will be holding its yearly Dreamforce Convention at the Moscone Center. Conference hours will be from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. each day. An attendance of 30,000 is expected at Moscone Center North, South and West. Significant traffic congestion is anticipated in and around Moscone Center between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. daily for the duration of the closure, particularly on streets immediately east of 3rd Street. Additional congestion on 4th Street from Market Street and on Mission Street between 3rd and on 4th Streets is anticipated from early morning through the evening between Monday, Oct. 13 and Thursday, Oct. 16. Travelers are encouraged to take public transportation or use alternate routes. There will be heavy pedestrian traffic in the area.

From Sunday, Oct. 5 through Sunday, Oct. 19, Howard Street traffic will be detoured via southbound 2nd Street to Harrison Street, or via New Montgomery Street to Hawthorne Street to either Folsom or Harrison streets.

There will be temporary taxi stands for pick up and drop off only:

  • White Zone at W Hotel, north side of Howard Street between 3rd Street and Hawthorne Street
  • White Zone at Intercontinental, north side of Howard Street at 5th Street
  • Southside of Howard Street (westbound) between 4th and 5th streets

Blessing of the Fishing Fleet

Sunday, Oct. 5: The annual La Madonna de Lume parade and the Blessing of the Fishing Fleet will begin with a procession at 2 p.m. from Saint Peter and Paul’s Church on Washington Square. The procession will proceed to Jefferson Street between Jones and Taylor streets via Columbus Avenue and Leavenworth Street for the blessing celebration at approximately 3 p.m. The parade will consist of about 100 people, two vehicles.

The following street closures will be required:

  • 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.:       Filbert Street between Stockton and Powell streets
  • 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.:     Jefferson Street between Jones to Taylor streets

Events at Chase Center

  • Sunday, Oct. 5 through Wednesday, Oct. 8: There will be basketball games to be held at the Chase Center:
    • Sunday, Oct. 5: The Warriors will play their first pre-season game against the Los Angeles Lakers. Game will start at 5:30 p.m. Doors will open at 3:59 p.m.
    • Wednesday, Oct. 8: The Warriors will play their second pre-season game against the Portland Trail Blazers. Game will start at 7 p.m. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m.
      Street Closures
      To accommodate events that will take place at the arena, the following street closures will be enforced two hours before and one hour after each event:
    1. 16th Street between 3rd Street and Terry Francois Boulevard
    2. Warriors Way between 3rd Street and Terry Francois Boulevard
    3. Northbound 3rd Street between 16th Street and Warriors Way will also be closed approximately 30 minutes before and 45 minutes after the event.
    Only local access will be allowed on Northbound Illinois Street between Mariposa and 16th streets.

    Taxi Stands

    There is one taxi stand located on southbound Terry Francois Boulevard.
    Ramp Taxis should use the loading zone on eastbound Warriors Way at Bridgeview Way.
