2026 Pokémon World Championship

Friday, Aug. 28 through Sunday, Aug. 30: The 2026 Pokémon World Championship will take place at the Moscone Center and at Chase Center. For more information visit https://worlds.pokemon.com.

Street Closures

Wednesday, Aug. 19, through Tuesday, Sept. 1: Around the event location near the Moscone Center, full and partial street closures will be required:

Full Closure

From 6 a.m., Wednesday, Aug. 19 through 6:30 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 1:

  • Howard Street between 3rd and 4th streets
From Tuesday, Aug. 25, through Sunday, Aug. 30, from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily:
  • Minna Street between 4th Street and 500 feet west of 4th Street

There will also be some lane closures, primarily parking lanes, around Moscone Center.

 

Taxi Zones

A Taxi Zone is established on the west side of 3rd Street between Howard and Folsom streets and on the south side of Howard Street between 4th and 5thstreets.

Love on Haight – A Mad Dog in the Fog Block Party

Thursday, Aug. 27: A street closure of Haight Street between Clayton Street and Masonic Avenue will be required from 11:30 a.m. to approximately 7 p.m. The intersection of Haight and Ashbury streets will be closed. There will be an RSVP area on the street for the musical performance. Sidewalks will remain open at all times.

San Francisco Giants Games

Thursday, Aug. 27 through Saturday, Aug. 29: The San Francisco Giants will play three games at the ballpark. Listed below are times for these games:
  • Three games against the Arizona Diamondbacks: a) 6:45 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 27; b) 7:15 p.m., Friday, Aug. 28; and c) 1:05 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 29.

Street Closures

To accommodate events that will take place at the ballpark, the following street closures will be enforced:

  • Two and a half hours before the opening pitch, the SFMTA will close eastbound King Street between 3rd and 2nd streets to vehicle traffic. King Street will reopen after first pitch until the seventh inning.
  • From the seventh inning until post-game traffic dies down, the SFMTA will again close eastbound King Street between 3rd and 2nd streets to vehicle traffic in order to reduce congestion on city streets.
  • Additionally, the northbound portion of the 4th Street Bridge (Peter R. Maloney Bridge) will be closed to all traffic except Muni, taxis and bicycles during the post-game period.

  • 2nd Street, west side, between Brannan and King Streets
  • 2nd Street, east side, between Townsend and King Streets
  • 3rd Street, east side, north of King Street

Visitacion Valley Night Market

Friday, Aug. 28: The Visitacion Valley Night Market and Block Party will take place, from 4 to 8:30 p.m. This event will take place on Leland Avenue between Bayshore Boulevard and Peabody Street. For event details visit https:///allmyusos.org.

A closure of Leland Avenue between Peabody Street and Bay Shore Boulevard will be required from noon to 8 p.m., Friday, Aug. 28.

Pokemon Drone Show at the Ferry Building

Friday, Aug. 28 to Sunday, Aug. 30: Each evening, there will be a Pokemon-themed drone show above the Ferry Building. The show will be visible from the plazas in front of and behind the Ferry Building and in the park spaces there, such as Sue Bierman Park and will last about eight to ten minutes. This event is free and open to the public. Here are start times of the show each night: 1) at 9:35 p.m., Friday, Aug. 28; b) at 9:20 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 29; and c) at 9:20 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 30.

There are no plans for street closures.
