Cherry Blossom Festival
Saturday, April 13 and Sunday, April 14: The 52nd.Annual Cherry Blossom Festival will be held for two consecutive weekends, April 13-14 and April 20-21. The festival will take place from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., each day. For event details visit www.sfcherryblossom.org.
There will also be a parade on Sunday, April 21. The parade will begin at Civic Center at 1 p.m., proceeding up Polk to Post Street, and ending in Japantown at Post and Fillmore streets.
The following street closures will be required beginning 4 a.m., Saturday through 11 p.m., Sunday:
- Post Street between Laguna and Fillmore streets
- Webster Street between Geary Boulevard and Sutter Street
- Buchanan Street between Bush and Sutter streets
- Intersection: Webster Street at Post Street
Cesar Chavez Parade and Festival
Saturday, April 13: The annual Cesar Chavez Parade will begin at 11 a.m. Participants will gather at 19th Street between Dolores and Guerrero streets at 10 a.m. The festival will be held after the parade on 24th Street between Treat and Bryant streets from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. For details visit 2019 Cesar Chavez Day.
The parade will proceed from Dolores and 19th streets, east on 19th Street, south on Mission Street, east on 24th Street to Folsom Street. The festival area will take place on 24th Street between Treat and Bryant streets.
Streets will re-open as the parade passes. The following closures will be required from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.:
- 24th Street between Treat and Bryant streets
- Harrison between 23rd and 25th streets
- Intersections: 24th Street at Harrison, Alabama, Florida streets
Local residential access will be allowed on Florida and Alabama streets.
Sunday Streets – Tenderloin
Sunday, April 14: The third Sunday Streets event will take place in the Civic Center and Tenderloin neighborhoods. This event route travels along Fulton Street, Ellis Street, Golden Gate Avenue, Jones, Turk and Larkin streets. The route will be available for recreational activities from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The event is free to all participants. For event details visit www.sundaystreetssf/tenderloin.
The following street closures will be required from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
- Jones Street between O’Farrell Street and Golden Gate Avenue
- Larkin Street between Grove and O’Farrell Streets
- Fulton Street between Larkin and Hyde streets
- Ellis Street between Larkin and Taylor streets
- Golden Gate Avenue between Polk and Jones streets
Cross traffic will be allowed at the following locations:
- Eastbound on McAllister Street
- East and westbound on Eddy Street at Larkin and Leavenworth streets
- Northbound on Leavenworth Street
Thai New Year in Little Saigon
Sunday, April 14: A celebration of the Southeast Asia community in the lower Polk/Tenderloin area will take place alongside Sunday Streets – Tenderloin, with food and entertainment. For event details visit Tenderloin Community Benefit District.
Larkin Street between Eddy and O’Farrell streets will be required from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
