Chinatown Autumn Moon Festival

Saturday, Sept. 11 and Sunday, Sept. 12: The Autumn Moon Festival, now in its 31st year, will transform the iconic Grant Avenue in San Francisco Chinatown for two days, Saturday and Sunday, into an attractive Asian-themed corridor with outdoor dining, cultural exhibits, children’s activities, martial arts, art displays and vendor offerings. The festival will take place between 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. each day. For event details, visit www.moonfestival.org.

The following street closures will be required from 12:01 a.m., Saturday to 8 p.m., Sunday:

  • Grant Avenue from California Street to Broadway
  • Commercial Street from Kearny Street to Grant Avenue
  • Intersection: Commercial Street at Grant Avenue

How Weird Street Faire

Sunday, Sept. 12: The 22nd annual How Weird Street Faire will be held from noon to 8 p.m. on Howard and 2nd streets. Heavy pedestrian traffic is expected in the area. Event participants are encouraged to take public transportation to the event. For event details visit https://howweird.org.

The following street closures will be required from 12:01 a.m., Sunday, Sept. 12 to 4 a.m., Monday, Sept. 13:

  • Howard Street between 1st and New Montgomery streets
  • 2nd Street between Mission and Folsom streets
  • Natoma Street between 1st and New Montgomery streets
  • Minna Street between 1st and New Montgomery streets
  • Tehama Street between 1st and New Montgomery streets
  • Intersections:  2nd Street at Howard, Tehama, Minna and Natoma streets

Giant Race 2021 Run

Sunday, Sept. 12: The annual San Francisco Giants Race 5K run will take place. The 5K course tours the scenic San Francisco waterfront and finish on the field at Oracle Park, home of the San Francisco Giants. The run will start between 7:30 and 8 a.m. An estimated number of 1,500 runners is expected. For more event details, visit http://www.race-sfgiants.com/san-francisco.

The following street closures will be required from 3 a.m. to 1 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 12:

  • Eastbound King Street between Townsend and 3rd streets
  • Northbound Embarcadero between Broadway and Townsend Street

San Francisco Giants Baseball Game

Monday, Sept. 13 through Thursday, Sept. 16: The San Francisco Giants will play four home games against the San Diego Padres at the ballpark. Listed below are start times for these games: 1) 6:45 p.m., Monday, Sept. 13; 2) 6:45 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 14; 3) 6:45 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 15; and 4) 12:45 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 16.

Street Closures

To accommodate events that will take place at the ballpark, the following street closures will be enforced:

  • Two and a half hours before the opening pitch, the SFMTA will close eastbound King Street between 3rd and 2nd streets to vehicle traffic. King Street will reopen after first pitch until the seventh inning.
  • From the seventh inning until post-game traffic dies down, the SFMTA will again close eastbound King Street between 3rd and 2nd streets to vehicle traffic in order to reduce congestion on city streets.
  • Additionally, the northbound portion of the 4th Street Bridge (Peter R. Maloney Bridge) will be closed to all traffic except Muni, taxis and bicycles during the post-game period.

  • 2nd Street, west side, between Brannan and King Streets
  • 2nd Street, east side, between Townsend and King Streets
  • 3rd Street, east side, north of King Street
