Dreamfest

Now until Saturday, September 29, street closures remain in effect around the Civic Center area for the Dreamfest gala.

Since 7 a.m., Saturday, September 22, a rolling series of closures were required in the area, beginning with Fulton Street between Larkin and Hyde streets on and expanding to include Larkin, Grove streets and Dr. Carlton B Goodlett Place.

The following street closures are required:

  •  to 7 p.m., Saturday, September 29:
    • Fulton Street between Larkin and Hyde streets
    • Larkin Street (easternmost northbound lane only) between Hayes and McAllister streets
  •  to 7 a.m., Saturday, September 29: (do they mean 7 am or 7 pm?)
    • Grove Street between Polk and Larkin streets

*Note: Local access will be allowed

Dreamforce Convention

Through Saturday, September 29: A street closure of Howard Street between 3rd and 4th streets is in effect for the Dreamforce Convention until 8 p.m., Saturday, September 29.

The Salesforce Corporation is holding its yearly Dreamforce Convention at the Moscone Center. Conference hours are from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., each day. An attendance of 60,000 is expected to attend workshops and product demonstrations at Moscone Center North, South and West.

Significant traffic congestion is anticipated in and around Moscone Center between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. daily for the duration of the closure. Travelers are encouraged to take public transportation or use alternate routes. There are heavy pedestrian traffic in the area.

Howard Street traffic is being detoured via southbound 2nd Street to Harrison Street, or via New Montgomery Street to Hawthorne Street to either Folsom or Harrison streets.

Signage is placed in advance of the street closures and detour routes.

 

There are temporary taxi stands for pick up and drop off only:

  • Eastside of Third Street (northbound) between Howard and Minna streets
  • Southside of Howard Street (westbound) between 4th and 5th streets

Temporary taxi stands for the event will be in place at the following locations:

  • East side of 2nd Street between King and Townsend streets, seven spaces

  • West side of 3rd street between King and Townsend streets, five spaces

Folsom Street Fair : Limited Taxi Stands

Sunday, September 30: The annual Folsom Street Fair will take place from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. An attendance of about 200,000 is expected.

The following street closures will be required from 3 a.m. to 10 p.m., Sunday:

  • Folsom Street between 8th and 13th streets
  • 9th Street between Howard and Harrison streets
  • 10th Street between Howard and Harrison streets
  • 11th Street between Howard and Harrison streets
  • 12th Street between Howard and Harrison streets
  • All alleys and intersections bounded by 8th, Howard, 13th and Harrison streets

For northbound traffic, please use Harrison Street, travel to 13th Street and to Duboce Avenue. For southbound traffic, please use Octavia Boulevard for US101 South Freeway.

For pick up and drop off only, there will be limited number of temporary taxi stands for the event on both north west and south west side of 8th and Folsom streets.

Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure

Sunday, September 30:  The Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure will take place along The Embarcadero beginning at 9 a.m.

The following street closures will be required from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m.

  • Northbound Embarcadero between 2nd and Washington streets
  • Northbound 3rd Street beween Channel and King streets
  • Eastbound King Street between 3rd and 2nd streets
  • Terry Francois Boulevard between 3rd and Mission Rock streets

Local access to Piers 48 and 50 will be allowed during the street closure.

Cole Valley Fair

Sunday, September 30: The 14th annual Cole Valley Fair will take place from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

  • Cole Street between Carl and Grattan streets
  • Parnassus Avenue between Belvedere and Shrader streets
  • Intersection of Cole Street and Parnassus Avenue

U.S. Navy Fleet Week

Monday, October 1 through Monday, October 8: Fleet Week will be held along Fisherman’s Wharf and the Marina District.

In support of our military personnel, the SFMTA will offer free Muni Service (including Cable Car) to those in uniform or those who present military ID card during Fleet Week from Monday, October 1 through Monday, October 8.

The Blue Angels will have official shows on :

Friday, October 5
Saturday, October 6
Sunday, October 7

from Noon to 4 p.m., each day.

From Friday through Sunday, the Parade of Ships, air shows and ship tours will be held to celebrate the U.S. Navy Fleet Week. These events will impact the Fisherman’s Wharf area and the Marina District.

The celebration will begin on Friday at 10 a.m. with the Parade of Ships and continue on Saturday and Sunday from Noon to 4 p.m. Ship tours will be open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Friday through Monday.  A crowd of over 300,000 is expected each weekend day.

Street Closures

Jefferson Street between Hyde Street and westerly terminus will be closed from 6 a.m., Friday, October 5 to 6 p.m. on Sunday, October 7.

Traffic congestion and disruption of transit service will be expected in the northern section of the city after the Fleet Week Air Shows.
